Middle of May

In the middle of May, Megan and her friend Hannah played a lot and matched whenever possible, we helped with a neighborhood cleanup (which the kids were awesome at--I was so proud of them), Josh got his braces off (he was thrilled--but knows he still needs another round), Josh had his space derby (I don't even remember how his rocket did, but he was so cute about the whole thing), Lia had an orchestra concert (she is not loving orchestra and is counting the days until it's over), and Lia had her 9th grade graduation dance (she got a new dress and looked so pretty and was so excited!).

Mother's Day

I love Mother's Day and I sometimes have a hard time with Mother's Day. I love it because my kids and Nate are so good to me and always make the day special. I have a hard time with it because it sometimes reminds me of all the things I am not doing as a mom. But, this Mother's Day was great. And this Mother's Day I was also especially appreciative of my mom and mother in law and my sisters and sisters in law (who I don't have a picture of). I am so grateful to be a mom and I'm so grateful for the others mothers in my life!

May

In May, Josh kept improving on the guitar, Laura had a choir concert and was honored for being on the honor roll, Nate (and Josh) had some great scout activities, Josh and I worked on his rocket for the space derby (it was a lot of fun doing it together), and Laura performed well in her piano competition.

Lacrosse, Gymnastics and Soccer

Saturdays in the Spring are busy, but it's so fun watching the kids! Josh played lacrosse, Megan had a gymnastics meet that she was so excited about (and super excited that her teacher Mrs. Burton came to see her), and Laura played soccer. I love to see them work hard and improve and hopefully have fun doing it.

Laura's Birthday

Laura turned 13 this year! THIRTEEN! She celebrated with her friends at a surprise birthday party her friend Brooke threw for her, and then with us, and then with the Nelsons. Life is always a party for Laura! She loves being with her friends and planning the next get together. She's not just all about fun though...she's extremely dedicated to playing the piano and playing soccer and she does a lot to help out at home. Laura is a good friend and looks out for others. She's also the only one who will watch cheesy Hallmark movies with me, is Lia's partner in crime, Josh's buddy, is good about playing with and helping Megan, and is surprisingly into the Jazz almost as much as her dad. I love to see her smile and I love to see the things she accomplishes when she puts her mind to it. We love Laura!
