Josh's Birthday

Josh turned two this month and we had a great time celebrating! We took him to Thanksgiving Point to go on a "horsie ride" and had lunch there. He then got a nap in while Nate and the girls and I finished his cake. He LOVES fire engines right now so that's what we did for his cake. I have to say this one was my favorite to decorate. The girls helped by making all kinds of things out of the extra fondant and Nate made the dog on top, which I thought was great. That night we had a party with our families. Josh could not be happier with his new toys! In fact they stayed spread out all over the family room floor for at least a week. He loves all his new cars, trucks and tractors and I love to watch him driving them all over the house. His favorite place to drive them is along our bed and on Nate while we're reading stories at night. The best part of the day came when I was laying down with Josh (Nate unfortunately was at a meeting) thinking about the day and enjoying the snuggle time with him. He kept saying "two" and would give me his hand so I could hold up two of his fingers for him. He is such a sweetheart and so fun to have in our family. I can't get enough of the funny things he says and does. We love you Josh!

Josh didn't have any cake on his birthday because he had a major blowout (which was unusual at this point in his life) and took a bath. He was so busy playing with his toys before and after the bath that he didn't even notice. So this was a few days later after we both enjoyed the last of it.

My Family Reunion

My family has started having a family reunion every year and this year Nate and I were in charge of planning it. We spent a couple of days at a house we rented up in Heber and a night in Provo watching the fireworks at BYU. I hope everyone had as great of a time as we did. Lia and Laura could not contain their excitement! I hardly saw them the whole time we were there they were so busy playing with their cousins. Other than my brother and his family having to sleep in the family room (sorry Ryan and Heather) and my brother-in-law burning his hand on some fireworks (I'm REALLY sorry about that Mike and Kathie), things went pretty smoothly. I wouldn't even mind planning another one...in a few years. Nate was so great in planning and carrying out everything and my mom helped A LOT!! I am grateful for a family who likes getting together and who is so supportive.

Most of the girls...
Lia with my new little nephew.
Lia and Laura sang "So Long, Farewell" from "The Sound of Music" for the talent show.
Josh throwing rocks in the stream up in Heber.

Laura waiting for the fireworks to start.
This is all the grandkids except Anna and our baby that's coming in a few weeks. My mom got all the kids hats, along with a lot of other 4th of July stuff. This is one of our favorite events all year because the kids have plenty of room to play and the adults have plenty of time to talk, although we were a little anxious this year to get back to the house to play. I don't think we've ever all stayed in one place together and we really had a lot of fun.

Soccer

Lia and Laura finished soccer about a month ago and I'm finally posting pictures. They played in Saratoga Spring with their cousins James and Danny and Nate helped my brother-in-law Ian coach. They looked cute in their uniforms and were fun to watch. Lia scored a few goals and when Laura wasn't playing, she had fun with her cousins on the sidelines, which is where she preferred to stay most of the time. They were really excited about getting their medals and treat after the last game.

This was how we started off the season. It was pouring rain and right after I took this picture Laura fell asleep in my lap for the rest of the game. Thankfully it warmed up for the last several games.
