Valentine's Day

Nate and I went to the dinner dance at Thanksgiving Point this year with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. Nate gave in to my asking and got the tickets. He's done a lot of great things for me over the years and this was one of my favorites. We had a great time! We were definitely some of the youngest in the crowd that night, but that was part of what made it fun. I hope Nate will still be taking me to do things like this twenty years from now. If anyone wants to go next year I think we'll be going again. Thanks Nate!!
This was a "practice" cake I made before I make Lia's birthday cake.
Laura and Josh got into Laura's make up. I love the look on Josh's face. In the background is the paper the activity days girls in our ward "heart attacked" Nate with. They also brought balloons and treats. Thanks girls!

Megan's first meal

All she really wanted was the spoon and at last she got it.

Random Pictures

The kids got these from a balloon guy at the Brick Oven. We thought they were pretty impressive...as far as balloons go.
Josh and Laura were helping me make brownies and Josh turned on the beaters a little prematurely and got flour everywhere. I'm sorry to say I let him know how unhappy I was and made him feel bad, which is why he wouldn't look at the camera when I took the picture.
I just love Megan's feet. I think they're kind of on the big side, but they're really cute!
We miss Lucy! My little niece left a few weeks ago for London and Josh has been talking about her a lot since then. Hopefully we'll get to see her again in April.
It's so fun having another reader in the family. Lia is doing great and helps me out sometimes by reading to Josh, Laura and Megan.

Sledding

After telling the kids for weeks we would go sledding (and hearing about it again and again from Lia when we weren't able to go), we found a hill with enough snow and went. We lasted for a total of about 45 minutes before it started getting dark and cold, but it was really fun. Josh didn't want to go at first, but after a lot of coaxing he agreed to go down with me. He laughed the whole way and said, "let's go again!" when we got to the bottom. If only we could do this everyday, it's one of the few things I like about winter.

Lia and the futon

Lia was doing "falling statues" (thank you Cameron for the idea) on the futon in the basement, missed the pillow and instead hit her face on the wood arm rest. She didn't even cry when it happened and hardly complained about it after, but she did spend a considerable amount of time looking in the mirror at it. I'm just glad it didn't happen when she and Laura were sliding down the stairs in a box two minutes before (thank you Nate for that idea) and that it didn't do any permanent damage. I'm also glad it's getting better because it made me hurt every time I looked at her!
