Nate's Birthday

At the beginning of April, Nate celebrated his 35th birthday. We gave him some new biking clothes. He had a pretty good fall in March and hurt his hip and ripped his biking shorts and needed some new ones. We celebrated his birthday early because he had to go out of town and then we were leaving for Florida the day of his birthday. He is such a good sport and never asks for anything. I hope he knows how much we all love him. He takes such good care of me and is always doing nice things for me. He's also a really great dad. He sacrifices a lot to spend time with our kids, be at their games, and help them with projects. I also really appreciate his sense of humor and his great example. We love you Nate!

March Activities

My sisters and mom and I took our girls to Women's Conference. It was the first time girls 8 and up were invited. We went to Thanksgiving Point and got dessert after. It was a fun night!

Megan had a dress up like your favorite character from a book day at school so she dressed up like Sister from the Berenstain Bears. She looked so cute!
Laura made a leprechaun trap for school. It was a pretty impressive trap!
Megan celebrated St. Patrick's Day at preschool.
Lia played indoor soccer with her fall soccer team. It is a very different game and fun to watch!
And Lia had a wax museum at school. She dressed up like Clara Barton, the founder of the Red Cross. She was the prettiest girl in the room!

Sleepovers in the Basement

Nate set up the ice fishing tent in the basement and the kids wanted to have a sleepover in it. They were so cute! I wish we could do these kinds of things every night!

Lia's 11th Birthday

In March, Lia celebrated her 11th birthday. ELEVEN YEARS! I don't know where the last 11 years have gone. Lia is wonderful! She is a great daughter and sister and friend. I know I can always count on her. She loves to talk and is always coming up with fun things to do. Lia loves fashion and wants to design clothes and live in Paris someday. She also wants to be a doctor someday. She loves playing soccer, being with her cousins, and babysitting. We are so grateful for Lia and I'm so glad she's my oldest! We love you Lia!

Lia wanted an owl themed birthday. She also wanted to have a late night birthday party with her friends. They played games and watched "Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken." At my family party that weekend, Lia and Samantha both wore the scarves they gave each other for their birthdays. I'm so glad they are such good friends!

Trip to Atlanta

In February, Nate and I took a trip to Atlanta to see our good friend Rebecca be sealed to her husband Todd. Nate performed their marriage three years ago and we told them then that we'd be there when they got sealed. They were moving to Georgia and I knew the chances of being able to make it were slim, but I meant it. Well, we got the invitation in January and I immediately called Nate and said I wanted to go. It was over President's Day weekend (and Valentine's Day weekend) so Nate had Monday off and thanks to Nate's frequent traveling, we can fly for free. So...we called Nate's parents and asked them to watch the kids and booked our tickets. I was so excited! We planned to drive down to Savannah after the sealing and spend a day there. I had wanted to see Savannah for a long time! The sealing was the highlight of the trip. Rebecca and Todd are so sweet and it was so good to see them again. We went to lunch afterward with them and their families. We were so grateful to be included in their special day!

We drove to Hilton Head, South Carolina from Atlanta. We stayed at a resort there and drove to Savannah for a day trip. Savannah is full of history and was very cool, but I loved Hilton Head! I definitely want to go back there. On our way back, our flight got delayed and we had a couple hours to spend in Atlanta so we went to the Martin Luther King Memorial. It was incredible and I was so glad we got to go.

February 2014

Josh started Karate at a new studio in American Fork. We had been thinking about it for several months and finally tried it. He loves it!

We hung out with Jennifer and Tiffany and their kids.
Nate took Lia and Laura to the Daddy Daughter Dance at school. They looked so pretty and were so excited!
Laura made it to the school story telling festival by retelling the story "Lily's Purple Plastic Purse." She did a great job!
Megan and I went to the Lehi police station with her preschool class.

Our friend Jennifer gave us her old ipad. The kids love it, can you tell?
And we went and saw Darren and Sarah's new baby Sam. Josh was so excited to hold him.
