July Activities

We took the kids to Logan so we could go to the Logan temple with Nate's family when Jan went through for the first time. It was great to be there with Jan and the kids got a little mini vacation too. We went to dinner, went swimming, and went to a little zoo. Also in July,  I had to take a picture for Luann of Josh in the new clothes she gave him for his birthday (he would never admit it, but he likes getting new clothes just like the girls do), and of him with his new Legos, and of the kids at the aquarium with the Nelson cousins, and of Laura's marionette puppet she made with her alligator Ally (including the house she made for him).

Josh and Megan

When these two are being best friends, there is nothing better! I love tucking them in together, like in this first picture. And this last picture I think is my favorite picture of the two of them. I was weeding in the back and they were pretending their swings were race cars. Josh was doing the play-by-play and Megan would join in every so often. It was very cute and I'm so glad they let me take a picture.

On our way home from Schofield, we met Nate's family in Nephi for the Ute Stampede Rodeo. Janet has been wanting to go for years (she grew up in Nephi) and we finally made it. It was really fun and I hope we can go again!

Schofield

Kellie and Ian invited us down to their cabin in Schofield. We went canoeing, four wheeling and fishing. We all had a great time and hope we get to go back soon!

Josh's 7th Birthday

Josh's 7th birthday was spread out over a few days because Nate had to go out of town on his birthday. So we celebrated with his friends one day and another day with Nate and our families. He had a water party with his friends and we went up the canyon for a hot dog roast and fishing with our families. Two of Josh's favorite things are hot dogs and fishing and he loves doing anything with his dad. For his birthday cake he wanted him and Nate fishing on top of the cake. He also loves building with Legos, playing baseball, and playing with his friends. It's not a good week if he doesn't get some play time in with his friends. And his latest favorite thing is our new Leopard Gecko named Geckin. He asked for one for his birthday (after asking for one for a couple years) and although it didn't come until a few weeks later, we got one. He's really cute with him. When we first got him, he'd wake up early to hold him and was always saying that Geckin was smiling. Josh is so smart and is fun to be around. He likes to be silly and he likes to build things and figure out how things work. He's become a great reader this last year. His favorite books are the Box Car Children series. He can read them, but he'd rather be read to at night before bed. He gives the best hugs ever and has the cutest smile. And I love it when he helps me cook or do laundry. We love you, Josh!

Here are some of my favorite Josh sayings from the last year:
"You and mom must have really small brains because it takes you a long time to think about things."
"That's a pretty big house for a small family like ours."
While playing chess, he called the pawns "spawns" and one of the other pieces "snowmen people."
And while we were in the car on a trip Megan said, "let's play a game who can get the most yellow cars" to which Josh replied, "no, let's play who can get the most porta potties."

The 4th of July

We started the 4th of July as we normally do: at the East Millcreek Parade and breakfast at Nelson's and ended it how we normally do: at BYU with my family. The kids had fun with their cousins, but it was a 4th of July I'm glad to have behind us.

July

We started off July with soccer camp at BYU and a birthday party for Lucy.

End of June Activities

At the end of June, we got to have the Cowleys over for a night while Korinne and Brian were on a cruise, we went to the Lehi Round Up parade with them, we played at grandma Nelson's and we saw Katie and Scott's new baby Preston.
