Laura did a play at school and did a great job with her part! Also in October we rented skis for the upcoming ski season. We decided to buy passes this year and teach the kids (and me) to ski. The kids were so excited!
I love October: the changes in the air, the leaves changing, the anticipation of Halloween. After trying to find a pumpkin patch to get pumpkins, we finally settled for Smith's. Picking out pumpkins was followed by a trip to Gardner Village with Korinne and Katie and our kids to see the Halloween decor.
In October Lia got a tooth pulled, Josh broke his finger at karate, Laura painted a block for Lia at activity days, I got to go on a field trip with Josh, we got ice cream with Grandpa Barson, we played in Grandma Nelson's tepee with Charlie, Austin and Isaac and Josh played soccer.
In September, Lia and Laura and I got to go to the General Women's Meeting downtown. It was great being with both of them in the Conference Center. After the conference (where Lia and Laura both took good notes), we got dessert at Blue Lemon. We don't go downtown very often anymore so it was fun to be there and we had a good time. Also in September, Nate and Josh went to the Fathers and Sons camp out. Nate was supposed to go to a football game in Texas with his friends from BYU that weekend and had already bought his ticket. But, when he found out it was the same weekend as Fathers and Sons, he canceled his trip. That's why I love him. Josh had a belt advancement for Karate in September too and received his orange belt. He's doing well and we are really proud of him. Near the end of the month, Kristen and Cam invited us to go play at the reservoir near their house with them before it got too cold. My kids always love playing with their's and playing in the water made it even better! And, we went to the Ogden Temple open house. It is a beautiful temple!
Lia did a play at school and was chosen to be one of the narrators. She also did the rocket launch with all of the sixth grade. Her rocket was the "purple perpetrator." She was really excited to put it together and paint it purple, her favorite color. The last picture is with her best friend Jane.
Nate took Lia, Laura, and Josh fishing on the Jordan River, Geckin got bigger, Megan took a lot of baths, Laura went for a joy ride, and Megan and I made a lot of cookies!
Josh and his friends found some snails outside and decided to collect them. They were so cute about them so I let them keep them in our garage, at least until Nate got home and we decided it was best to get rid of them. I loved this day though--little boys being little boys, digging in the dirt, finding bugs, and running all over the neighborhood.
