The 6th grade always does a water party at the end of the year and Lia was really excited about it! Here she is with her class, her friends Jane, Emery, and Alexa and her fabulous teacher Mrs. Carlson.
Megan's kindergarten graduation was cute, as they all have been, and she was especially cute! I was more than a little sad that this was my last one and that she will be gone all day next year. She had a great year with a great teacher, Ms. Johnson. Nate made sure to get her flowers after she asked if she was going to get some like Lia did for her graduation (that post is still to come). Megan is such a cutie and it was a fun day!
Knowing we were moving meant we wouldn't be seeing friends like Chloie and Ainsley everyday anymore so Megan and Laura took advantage of as many opportunities to play with them as they could. We also had a visit from Kathie and Lauren and Katelynn at the end of May. It's always great to see them! And finally, I found Josh asleep on his floor after the shower one night holding his trophy. Anything he falls asleep holding means it's pretty special!
For Memorial Day we decided to visit every cemetery around us where we have friends or family buried. We started at the Lehi Cemetery where our friends Wally, Val, and Vicky are buried. We then went to the Holladay Cemetery where my Slaven grandparents and my neice Anna are buried. From there we met Nate's family at the Salt Lake City Cemetery where my nephew Jack is buried. We then drove up to the Roy Cemetery where Nate's Spendlove grandparents and his aunt Dot are buried. It was a really nice day. It was nice to be with family and remember our friends and family that are no longer with us.
I took this picture and the one at the bottom as the school year wrapped up knowing we would not be back at Fox Hollow next year, and knowing all the kids would not be in the same school at the same time again. We had a great experience at Fox Hollow and will miss it. For some reason I don't have a picture of Laura at the dance festival, just video. Someday I'll do something with those videos...
In May, Laura had a puppet show at school, we played at Grandma Nelson's, Laura was busy doing crafts like this fish aquarium she made, Josh pretended he was a superhero and took advantage of his "claws" to roast marshmallows over the stove, Megan had cowboy day at school, Lia made and donated more quilts to Primary Children's, we visited the new Payson Temple, and Laura had her "Rock Concert" at school.
Laura's actual birthday was on Sunday. She got overalls (just like her friend Ainsley's) and pink converse high tops that she'd been wanting forever! After church my family came over to celebrate both Laura and my dad's birthdays. Laura adds so much to our family. She is full of energy and enthusiasm. If I need something done, I know Laura will get it done down to the very last detail. She is a great helper and a great sister and a great student. She likes to play the piano and soccer and does well at both. She also likes to do crafts, dress up, bake and be silly with her friends. And, she likes to find excuses to hang out with the boys in our neighborhood. I love how Laura is always expressing appreciation for the things in her life and I love to see her growing in the gospel. We love Laura so much and are so grateful for her!
