I can't believe Lia is 13! The last thirteen years have gone by so quickly, but at the same time I feel like I have been able to enjoy watching Lia grow up. She is a beautiful girl--inside and out. Lia is kind to everyone and is always doing nice things for others. She loves to babysit and is one of the favorites in our new neighborhood. She is a really great cousin to her younger cousins. She spent almost two hours on the phone the other day talking to Audrey who was having a hard time at her new school in California. She has read the Book of Mormon already and has been working hard on her personal progress. She just got called to be the secretary in the beehive class and is doing a great job there. Lia was such a good sport about changing schools and starting over with a whole new group of friends. It was not easy, but she handled it so well and now has a great group of girls she hangs out with. She loves to sew (she got a new sewing machine for her birthday) and shop and has added a new hobby recently--following the Utah Jazz. I think she knows as much about the team as her dad does. She's worked hard this school year to get straight As and is also becoming a beautiful violinist. We love Lia so much and are so grateful for her. I can't wait to see what the next 13 years will bring for her!
Lia wanted "A Night in Paris" birthday party. She made the invitations and found a picture of a cake she wanted me to make. The girls had crepes, made headbands, and watched "Sabrina" (some of which is filmed in Paris). It was a fun party. I am so grateful for good friends who Lia has fun with but who are also great influences on her.
