February

We started February with Lia preparing for her student body president run (hence the picture), Nate and I taking a trip down to Las Vegas to buy a new car (we flew down and drove the car back--it was a great all day date and the kids were so excited about the new car), a ski day at Deer Valley with Daniel, dessert night at Kristen's, and a trip to Atlanta for Nate. He had a trip planned already for work when Lia told him the Jazz were going to be playing in Atlanta while he was there. I don't know if I've ever seen Nate so excited! He was literally cheering. He tried everything to find himself a free ticket and finally broke down and bought one. He got to the arena early so he could be there for warmups and get some autographs--for the kids of course...and maybe himself. The kids were texting him through the whole game and looking for him on TV. He has definitely passed on his passion for the Jazz to the kids. It's so fun to watch all of them. Even Megan was jotting down stats on a notepad the other day so she could remember who was who and what position they played.

End of January

At the end of the month, Josh gave a talk in primary and was so cute. He included a few jokes which were pretty great. And then Megan had her "8 is Great" meeting. She is so excited to be baptized this year! Then Lia bought all the girls matching braclets. She found these bracelets online and bought one for herself and then wanted us all to have one (she also bought some for her friends). She is always doing sweet things like that and I love her for it! We also skiied at Snowbird at the end of the month. It was fun to try somewhere different, but I had a really hard run--one Nate probably shouldn't have taken me on. But, I only said a couple bad words on my way down, so I guess it ended okay. I'm so glad my family still wants to ski with me even when I continue to be a chicken and pretty dang slow. I'm trying though and slowly I'm getting a little more brave and trying to be a littler faster. Lastly, Lia and Laura both had their science fairs and made it to district!

More in January

And then we went to Grandma's again (I love this picture of Ashley and the kids--she is so great with them), went skiing again, and then got burried in a snow storm. Instead of skiing that day, we stayed home and shoveled and let the kids play in the snow all day. They had a great time! I also caught Lia and Laura deep in coversation on the fireplace. And, we had another pack meeting where Josh got an award (I can't remember which one). He loves scouts!

January

In January, we had a New Year's Day dinner at Grandma Nelson's, a sleepover at our house with Austin and Isaac, went sledding with the Nelson cousins, and Megan played with Aspen and had fun making her bed with all her stuffed animals. We also went skiing with the Hansens and the Scivallys. It was terrrible weather that day and several of us had some good falls. Lia fell and hit her lip on her pole and thought she just had a fat lip until we got home and she saw that her lip was stuck on her braces--really stuck. When we realized we couldn't get it unstuck, we called a dentist in our ward who was nice enough to get it unstuck after a considerable amount of effort. Poor Lia had a pretty sore mouth for a while after that! And lastly, Nate and I took Megan to a BYU vs. Utah gymnastics meet which she loved!
