March

In March the kids had a sleepover in the family room, Lia got her learners permit (HOLY COW!), we got in one last ski day at Snowbird, Megan made a leprechaun trap, and Laura and Lia both ran for student council at Mountain Ridge and Lone Peak. They both put in a lot of effort to campaign, but Laura made it and Lia did not. Lia was excited for Laura because she had a great experience on Mountain Ridge's student council, but she was extremely disappointed to not make it herself at Lone Peak. I was so sad for her. She would've been great. But, there will be a lot of other great things she can do in high school.

Amelia's Birthday

We got to celebrate Lia's 15th Birthday all weekend! We started with a new hair cut on Friday (she cut off 10 inches!) and a family party Friday night. Then her friends took her to breakfast on Saturday morning and she had a party with them that night at our house. They gave her her favorite things: a box of vegetables and a gift card to Woven Pear, her favorite sock store. Sunday was her actual birthday and we fasted that day because she got her Patriarchal Blessing that night. She decided she was ready and scheduled it for that day. We've had a lot of really great days with Lia, like when she was baptized and when she went to the temple for the first time. Those were very special experiences that I will never forget. Her patriarchal blessing though was even better. The patriarch spent a lot of time with us before and then he gave her a beautiful blessing. I am so thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who has given us the power of the priesthood and the blessing of patriarchs. Lia has so much to offer and is going to accomplish great things in her life. We are so grateful for the sweet person she is and how she looks out for others. She is so diligent in her scripture study and has worked hard to gain a testimony. She is not afraid to try new things and to do things on her own. She is also a lot of fun and has a funny sense of humor. She sees things as they are and is a good judge of character. We are so proud of her and are excited to see the great things she will do in her life.

February

In February, Megan had her wax museum at school. She was Amelia Earhart. She never lets me put curlers in her hair, so the one time she did, I wanted to take a picture. She was such a cute Amelia Earhart and did a great job on her presentation! Also, we got some good skiing in, Laura helped Josh make his valentine's box (he's obsessed with Chick-fil-A right now), and Megan made a puppy for her Valentine's box. Next, the kids and Nate got super excited about the NBA slam dunk contest because Donovan Mitchell from the Jazz was in it, I got a picture of Megan's wall by her bed before I took some of it down, and we went skiing with the Elmer's again and had a great time (until I fell on my last run and hit my head and got a mild concussion--I was fine, but I was seeing double for a couple days which freaked me out a little). Megan also did the story telling festival at school and made it to the grade level. She was awesome! And lastly, we got a couple of head shots of Lia because she needed them to run for student council (and we wanted some pictures before she cut her hair). They turned out great!
