Halloween Costumes and Jazz Games

We had a Halloween party at my Mom's (the kids sort of wore their costumes) and we went to a Jazz game. We were given extra tickets so we all got to go (except Lia who was at school) and Kent got to come with us too. The seats were great and it was a fun night!

October

Laura made her friend Madelyn a birthday present and had a lunch for her at our house at the beginning of October. Then Megan went to Cornbelly's with her friends Stella, Juliet and Samara. And Laura and her friends asked to the Sadie's dance. Laura asked her friend Brigham. Next, Josh had his last mountain bike race in Eagle Mountain. It was a long, dusty ride but he worked hard to finish. And Ollie was a good sport to let us try his Halloween costume on him. Also, Brigham answered Laura saying he could go to the dance. And Nate got a bad infection in his leg from his stitches. It got worse before we got it under control and was really painful. Thank goodness for antibiotics! And lastly, Josh and Laura had a piano recital. They played songs from the movies and could dress up if they wanted to. Josh played a song from Indiana Jones so he dressed up like him. Laura played a song from James Bond which was a little harder to dress up as.

Lone Peak's Homecoming

Laura had a great time at Lone Peak's homecoming game and dance with her friend Parker! He is a really nice guy and they had a lot of fun together. And Laura looked so pretty!

September

Over Labor Day weekend we got invited to the Elmer's cabin. We had a great weekend with them! We brought my dad's side by side, rented another one, and brought our dirt bikes so we could all go on a ride together. Unfortunately Nate crashed on his bike trying to help Megan and hurt his hand and leg and ended up in the ER that night. But, it was still a fun weekend and we were glad we got to go. We also had another mountain bike race for Josh and Megan at the beginning of September. Watching them cheer for each other made my whole year and made all the practices and long drives to the races totally worth it! It was Megan's last race and because she missed the previous one, she started at the very back and worked her way up to the front. We were so proud of her, including Josh, which meant more to me than anything. We don't care where they finish, we just want them to push themselves and work hard, which they always do. I am so grateful for all the good that mountain biking has done for us, but especially for what it has done for Josh and Megan's relationship. And lastly, we picked a lot of peaches from our tree, tried to keep Ollie out of rooms he's not supposed to be in, and the kids had a combined YM/YW activity at the temple.

End of August

At the end of August, Nate fell mountain biking and had to get stitches, my matching scar from my fall mountain biking (minus the stitches) finally healed, Megan and I got a drink together, the flowers my mom gave me for my birthday flourished, Megan relaxed on the porch, Ollie relaxed on Lia's t-shirt quilt I was working on, Josh had his first mountain bike race in Price and did great (Megan got sick and couldn't race, unfortunately), Laura got asked to homecoming by her friend Parker, Nate wore his new shoes to work for their shoe competition, Laura and I went shopping for a homecoming dress, and Megan was super excited about going rock climbing with the young women.
