Swing Arm City

Nate and Josh got invited by our friend Shawn Scivally to go on an off-roading trip to Swing Arm City while we were in Arizona. Josh was so excited! They had a really great time seeing a new place, seeing what the truck could do, and hanging out with Shawn.

Taylor Swift

Laura had been dying to see Taylor Swift in concert for forever. When she announced her new tour, Laura stayed home from school and tried for hours to get tickets, but it didn't work out. So Nate spent a lot of time looking for re-sellers and he found six tickets in Phoenix opening night. I was so sad thinking about going without Lia because I knew she would be sad about missing it. But, there wasn't anything we could do about that. So we invited Laura's friend Ella. And then when Josh and Nate decided not to go because Josh really didn't want to go and because they got another invitation that weekend, we had two extra tickets. So Megan got to invite her friend Hannah and Laura invited her other friend Madelyn. We flew down on Thursday night, went to the concert on Friday night, and flew home on Saturday. It was a quick trip, but we had so much fun! I had to have a little cry about Lia when we arrived in Phoenix and everyone was so excited to be there. But, we'll make it up to her someday. Hanging out at the hotel, swimming, and getting ready for the concert were all really fun. And the concert was amazing! Like really amazing. And the best part was seeing Laura and Megan loving every minute of it. I was so grateful for Nate for making it happen!

Hermana Nelson Turns 20

Amelia and her companion Hermana Rencher had birthdays just one day apart. They were so excited when they realized that and when they found out they'd still be companions on their birthdays so they could celebrate together. And they loved serving with Hermana Harris and Hermana Feliz so it was fun to celebrate with them as well. They both got packages from home with presents for their birthdays so they saved them and opened them together. Even though we missed her a lot and wished we could celebrate with her, we were so glad she could celebrate with her mission friends. We are so proud of Lia and all the good things she did in Paraguay! It was not easy, especially in Caaguazu. But, she continued to work hard and do her best everyday and her persistence made her a great missionary, sister training leader, disciple of Jesus Christ, and friend to all those who got to know her on the mission.
