Lone Peak Backpacking Trip

Nate took Lia on a backpacking trip to Lone Peak on a weekend in mid July. They both like to backpack, but this is not a trip for the faint of heart. Nate did it years ago with the young men and remembered as he and Lia got started how hard it is. But, they did it and had a great time together! They camped near the top and then summited in the morning. When they got to the top, Nate was a little nervous, but Lia was not phased at all with the height or steep drop offs. I was so proud of them and also so grateful when they made it back safely. And, I was so thankful for Nate for making it happen.

Josh's 13th Birthday

Josh celebrated his 13th birthday with a cake Megan helped me bake and decorate, a trip to the go kart racing place with our family, a visit to my mom and Steve's, and a party with his friends. Josh is all about cars, saving for a dirt bike, mountain biking and being there for me anytime I need something fixed. He loves doing things with his dad and is very good at anything electrical or mechanical. He's always been funny, but he's really developing a great sense of humor and keeps us laughing. He is so great with his little cousins and did a fantastic job serving as the deacons quorum president this last year. He's also getting better at the guitar and it's fun to hear him play. We love Josh and are so grateful for him!

Beginning of July

Josh showed the girls how to change a bike tire, Megan did my hair, Laura relaxed with Ollie, and Nate and Josh went mountain biking and Nate got a little banged up.

4th of July

The parade we normally go to on the 4th of July was cancelled, as was the breakfast at Janet and Kent's. But, the kids still set out their clothes the night before and we went to a car show parade instead and said hello to our Nelson cousins before heading down to Provo with my family. The kids were so excited to have Ollie with us (who also had a 4th of July shirt) for his first Independence Day and even though the morning wasn't the same, it was nice to have our tradition with my family go off as usual. It's one of our favorite nights of the year!
