Reservoirs, Friends, Cousins, Broken Arms and Braces

Josh got a remote control boat for his birthday so we went to the Highland Glen pond to try it out. Afterward we met up with some friends from our old neighborhood at the park. Next, when our friend Brandon Pfunder was diagnosed with cancer, Jennifer, Tiffany, Maihsmy and I made him and Juli two quilts to show our love and support and delivered them with our husbands. Then, we took our kayaks to Tibble Fork Reservoir with the Elmers and got to have Alex come spend the weekend with us. And, after decorating Lia's cast with a galaxy design (per her request), she got it off. Lastly, Josh and Laura got their braces on. Josh did not hide his unhappiness about the situation. Hopefully the time will pass quickly for him!

Josh's 10th Birthday

I love this first picture of Josh! He is his same cute self, but looks so grown up too. This last year has been a really good year for Josh. He's grown taller and stronger, but he's also grown smarter and sweeter. I love to watch him doing his hair and tying his tie for church. He's my go-to guy for any electronic fixes around the house. He's started making breakfast from time to time for everyone all by himself (first it was pancakes, the other day french toast). He loves to mountain bike with Nate or with his friends. He likes doing things with Megan again. He's taken an interest in music and loves Imagine Dragons. He is the best older cousin ever to his littler nephews. And best of all, he lets me hug him and he'll say he loves me, sometimes without me saying it first. His latest hobby is remote control cars and he got one for his birthday. He also loves trucks--especially the Ford Raptor and he can tell you all kinds of facts about it. We love Josh more than he knows and are so grateful for his cute and silly personality and all that it adds to our family.

Josh's 10th Birthday Party

For Josh's birthday party with his friends, we went to the Discovery Center to go on a "space mission." It was so fun to watch him and his friends on the mission. They were very serious about it but had a great time!

Girls Camp

Lia broke her arm again playing with her cousins at the Nelson's (she was standing on a chair and fell off), just in time for girls camp. This time though it was her elbow. Thankfully the doctor said she could still go to camp and gave her a waterproof cast. They were going river rafting in Moab so she needed to be able to get it wet. She and Laura were really excited to go. It was Laura's first year and she wasn't nervous at all. I think it helped that Lia was going to be there and that Nate got to go with them too. It was a hot few days, but a fun few days. Josh and Megan and I were really glad to welcome them back home at the end of the week. Josh got a special birthday surprise from Lia when they got home: tadpoles she found in the river and brought back just for him.

4th of July

On the 4th of July we went to the Millcreek parade and then spent the day at the Nelsons. It was a great day!

4th of July at BYU

Our night at BYU with the Barsons came a few days early this year. My dad and Dana put on a great party and we had a fun night, as always!
