End of October

Laura was so excited to get her braces off at the end of October! She looks great! Laura also had a choir concert at the end of October. And Megan had crazy hair day at school, had fun in her onsie, and decorated Halloween sugar cookies.

Fishing, New Babies, Cornbelly's, and Jazz Games

We spent a Saturday in October up at Tibblefork Reservoir. Lia and Laura and I walked around the lake (though the mud--it was a little wet!) while Nate and Josh and Megan did some fishing. It was a beautiful day and I loved every minute of it! Megan and all the kids have been loving every minute of hanging out with Parker. He is such a cutie! And the picture of Megan and Janet is really cute too. Next, I took Laura, Josh and Megan and their friends to Cornbelly's. The kids beg to go every year and we finally did. Lia had other plans that day. And lastly, Nate and I kicked off the Jazz season and our new season tickets with a game against the Warriors. We met some new friends there who have been sitting by Nate's Uncle Layne and Aunt Kris (who we bought the tickets from) for years. We're sharing a season with Nate's cousins so we get 10 games--all the kids get to go with me once and with Nate once and Nate and I get to go to two games together.

State Race

The state mountain bike race was in St. George. Kristen and Cam were down there too to see Brady race. It was fun to be down there with them and watch Lia one more time. She had a great race! And Megan got to do some rock climbing before we left.

October

In mid October, Laura had her piano recital (she did a duet with her teacher--it was fabulous), Josh finished up his lacrosse season, Nate and Josh went to a BYU football game, and Megan and I put her new bed together.

Cedar City and St. George

Lia had a race in Cedar City the same weekend Nate's family was going to St. George for the marathon Darren and Jared were running. So, we stayed with them in St. George and drove up for the race in Cedar City. On our way down, we stopped at the Cedar City Temple and Nate and Lia and Laura did baptisms for the dead. Then we stopped at the race course and all of us pre-rode the course. Lia and Nate and Josh did it without a problem. Laura was right behind them. Megan and I had a little harder time. I was reminded that I don't LOVE mountain biking. But, it was a good thing for Lia to ride the course and it was fun to do it together. The next day was cold and rainy which meant the race was cold and rainy. Lia did great though and I managed not to freeze. Nate and Janet and Kent and Luann met us there after the marathon to see Lia. She was thrilled to have them there! We got cleaned up and went out to dinner and to the Women's Session of General Conference with all the girls since it was conference weekend. We had a great time together! I loved having all the little girls with us that are all old enough to go now (Nora's almost there so she came anyway). It was a fun weekend of racing and spending time with family. On the way home we were listening to conference when they announced a temple in Salvador, Brazil. We have been waiting for that announcement in conference since we heard the church had land for a temple there. Nate and I both cried and were so excited! It means so much more to me now after going to Brazil with Nate. We will have to find a way back down there when it gets dedicated.
