June

In June, Nate, Lia, Laura and Josh started doing more mountain biking to get them ready for the season. Laura and Lia had to do a time trial to see which team they should be on. We also did some activities with Grandma Nelson and the Nelson cousins (this one was sewing bags for our camping trip at Sarah and Cam's house). We got some more of our remodel done too. And, Megan and I rode bikes to the Highland Glen Pond to go kayaking with our young women's class.

End of May

The end of May was different this year without the end of the school year activities, but we managed to come up with some fun activities of our own. We spent a day at Nelson's going on bike rides (the younger half and moms on a paved trail to a park and the older half and dads on a trail up the canyon) and playing games, we watched a little bit more of our remodel come together, we spent a lot of nights outside in the backyard with and without friends, we found our neighbor's turtle Snappy after he'd been missing for almost a year, we helped with a service project organized by Cameron at Nate's cousin's Matt and Jeanette's house (Jeanette was dying of cancer and they had a lot of work that needed to be done--it was a great project and we were so glad we got to help), we had breakfast outside every morning and hung out in the hammocks, Nate had an unexpected appendectomy, Josh rode his bike every chance he got, Ollie played outside, and we got our first copies of Nate's book!!

May

In May Nate had to have another procedure done on his sinuses. His first surgery was in January and this time it was much easier and was just done in the office. Also Megan made brownie houses, Megan and I went on some outings together including a bike ride to see some llamas along the trail by our house, we played at grandmas, we played tennis at the park with my young women class, we tried to teach Ollie to be a better walker, and Sarah Maughn helped me perm Lia and Laura's hair. Lia had been begging me to let her get her hair permed for a couple years and when she mentioned it to Sarah and Sarah said she would do it, I was committed also. Never mind that I also had to pack up the kitchen that night and perm supplies were a little hard to come by (who knew other people had the idea of perming their hair during covid also?). But, we got it done, it turned out cute, and Lia and Laura were so excited about it! Also, the kids played on the dolly, we hung out at the Farmer's house, Ollie got neutered and had to wear a onesie for several days, Megan and Stella spent a lot of time together, and Laura got her learners permit (yay!).
