The first week of Home MTC, Lia started her classes, Josh went off roading with Nate, Lia said goodbye to the Barsons and we said goodby to Dallin who was leaving for the Ivory Coast within a few days of Lia, Lia spent a lot of her time outside of class on the deck, Laura and Nate golfed, Nate and I went to a David Grey concert with our friends the Stinsons, and we went up to Alta again for a picnic while Lia was on a break. 

Amelia's Setting Apart

Amelia was set apart as a full time missionary on July 17th. Our stake president, President Juchau, came over to our house to set her apart. We invited Janet and Kent to come. It was an overwhelming and sweet experience. President Juchau had us all say something about Lia. We knew she was going to be a great missionary and we all felt so grateful for the experience. But, it was also very bittersweet knowing what was coming with her leaving soon. 

 

More from Mid July

We did baptisms at the Provo City Center Temple, went to the Nephi Rodeo with the Nelsons and Kristen and kids, and had some dinners in the backyard. 

 

Mid July

While Josh and Laura were at youth conference and Nate was at work, Lia and Megan and I went up to Alta to have a picnic and see the wild flowers with Janet and Kent and Ashley and her kids. It was so pretty up there and fun to be with the Nelsons. Also, Josh and Laura had a good experience at youth conference (in spite of the people running the camp they stayed at), Megan had fun with Hannah, Caroline and Samara, we saw a lot of beautiful sunsets, Megan made the Lone Peak Mountain Biking instagram, and we were excited to see Nate's book on the shelf at Seagull Book. 

Lia's Sacrament Meeting Talk and Lunch

I don't have any great family pictures from this day, but Lia spoke in sacrament meeting the week before she was set apart as a missionary. She did a fabulous job!! Afterward we had our family and friends over for lunch. It was the last time she was going to see Katie and her family so we made sure to get some pictures with them. It was a really nice day!
