The rest of July...

We spent some time at Katie and Scott's house with Landon and Tanner.
We went to Thanksgiving Point a few times.
Lia and Laura got to go to activity days camp with Grandma Nelson.
Josh's sunflower that he planted in the spring got even taller.
Lia, Laura, and Megan went to Makaila's princess birthday party.
We went to see the 24th of July Parade floats with Korinne and her kids.

And finally, we went to the 24th of July Parade with the Nelsons.

Josh's Friend Birthday Party

For his party with his friends, all Josh wanted to do was play baseball and have a pinata. So we did. As a bonus, he got a few squirt guns from his friends, so there was an impromptu water fight at the end. He was really excited about the party and I hope he had fun!

Josh's Birthday

On July 9th we celebrated Josh's 6th birthday. He loves baseball so I made a baseball cake, we went to a baseball game that night, and a couple days later he had a baseball birthday party with his friends (he wanted Nate to be there so we had his friends party on the Saturday after his birthday). Grandma and Grandpa Barson and Grandma and Grandpa Nelson came to the game with us. It was a lot of fun and Josh was so cute. One of his favorite things is a hot dog with LOTS of mustard and the baseball stadium is a great place to get one!

It was a busy day! I wasn't surprised he fell asleep on the way home. Josh is such a cutie. He knows what he wants and he's not afraid to tell you what that is. In addition to baseball, he loves Legos and playing the Wii. He also loves playing with his friends and riding his bike. He's lost a lot of teeth in the last year, which has been fun to watch his little smile change and then change again. He loves his sisters and I love it when they play together. He has told us several times though that he wants a little brother. He's very sweet with his cousins Austin and Charlie. I'm afraid they'll have to do as far as brothers go. One of my favorite things he's said in the last year was one morning he woke up and said, "Holy Mackerel! I just had the weirdest dream! Macaroni and cheese were running around me in bed!" And another time in the car Megan said, "let's play a game who can get the most yellow cars..." then Josh said, "no, let's play who can get the most porta potties." He's always making us laugh and we sure love him! We're so glad he's in our family.

Water Sliding

We were going to do a water slide for the family reunion, but the weather didn't cooperate. So instead we did it a week later on Josh's birthday. He was so excited! Korinne has a great hill at the park behind her house. The kids had a great time, especially Josh!

Barson Family Reunion

Ryan and Heather were in charge so we didn't stay anywhere (it was enough for them just to get here from Florida), but we did a lot of fun things!
We decorated pinewood derby cars.

And then raced the cars.

We went bowling and played  laser tag.
On our last night, we had dinner at Kristen and Cam's park. I love this picture of Josh...he was just doing his own thing and was perfectly happy to be doing it.

4th of July with the Barsons

We started the Barson reunion at BYU on the 4th of July. As usual, it was a lot of fun and nice to be together, especially with Ryan and Heather and Kathie and Mike who we don't see as much.

Forth of July with the Nelsons

Every 4th of July for the past few years we have gone to the Millcreek Parade in the morning with Nate's family. The kids have been in it a couple times riding in Kent's truck or riding their bikes. This year Lia wanted to walk in the parade and decorate our wagon for Megan and Lucy to ride in. Nate and Jan and Wendy helped her decorate it to look like an old "Woody" station wagon (the theme for the parade was "Road Trip USA"). It turned out really cute!

Someone was a little tired after the parade...
I don't know what it is about swinging, but I love to watch the kids swinging. It makes me wish they could stay this age forever.

Josh is such a good little friend to Austin. And Austin loves Josh!

Lucy's birthday was the day before and she got super hero dress ups. These three love playing together!
