On July 9th we celebrated Josh's 6th birthday. He loves baseball so I made a baseball cake, we went to a baseball game that night, and a couple days later he had a baseball birthday party with his friends (he wanted Nate to be there so we had his friends party on the Saturday after his birthday). Grandma and Grandpa Barson and Grandma and Grandpa Nelson came to the game with us. It was a lot of fun and Josh was so cute. One of his favorite things is a hot dog with LOTS of mustard and the baseball stadium is a great place to get one!
It was a busy day! I wasn't surprised he fell asleep on the way home. Josh is such a cutie. He knows what he wants and he's not afraid to tell you what that is. In addition to baseball, he loves Legos and playing the Wii. He also loves playing with his friends and riding his bike. He's lost a lot of teeth in the last year, which has been fun to watch his little smile change and then change again. He loves his sisters and I love it when they play together. He has told us several times though that he wants a little brother. He's very sweet with his cousins Austin and Charlie. I'm afraid they'll have to do as far as brothers go. One of my favorite things he's said in the last year was one morning he woke up and said, "Holy Mackerel! I just had the weirdest dream! Macaroni and cheese were running around me in bed!" And another time in the car Megan said, "let's play a game who can get the most yellow cars..." then Josh said, "no, let's play who can get the most porta potties." He's always making us laugh and we sure love him! We're so glad he's in our family.
