The Elf on the Shelf

Josh got an "Elf on the Shelf" in his classroom at school and kept telling me about it and asking me if we could get one. So after school one day when I just had him with me (the girls were at piano and Megan was at preschool), we went to the Hallmark store (where he told me you could buy one) and got one. He was so cute about it that it was worth every penny! The kids named our elf Buddy and made a house and a bed for him. He was supposed to sit on a shelf and watch the kids to make sure they were being good for Santa and every night go back to the North Pole to report. When he came back in the morning, he would be in a different spot and the kids had to find him. Sure enough, the kids were good and couldn't wait to see where Buddy was in the morning! The last picture here is Josh and Megan sleeping together that first night because they were both nervous and excited about him being there.
