Megan's First Week of School

Megan started kindergarten a week later. She was REALLY excited! And just like the week before, I was excited for her, but really sad to see her go. Thankfully I had things to do after I dropped her off, so I didn't have a chance to cry, which is what I wanted to do. The good thing about kindergarten though is the time goes by really quickly. I love picking her up everyday and holding her hand and hearing about her day.

First Day of School

Lia, Laura and Josh were really excited for the first day of school, as usual. They were so cute and while I was excited for them, I was sad to see them go. Megan was sad to see them go too. So she and I went to Maui Chill and got some frozen yogurt to make ourselves feel better.

Last Day of Summer

We went swimming one last time at Jennifer's pool and got drinks at Swig. We also picked up the Leopard Gecko we'd been getting ready for and telling Josh we'd get since his birthday. He was so excited about it! So were the girls. They named him Geckin. Even I think he's kind of cute.

Middle of August

I took the kids to temple square with the young women when Nate was out of town. Josh started karate at a new studio. We played at Kristen's house with the Farmer cousins. We went to Liberty Park and Tracy Aviary with Nate's family. And, we harvested our first ear of corn. The corn was Josh and Nate's thing they did together and Josh was really excited about it. He fell on his way in the house and hurt his foot pretty badly though, which is why he's in tears in the pictures.

Camping Continued

In the morning we packed up camp and went down to the lake (Silver Lake) to go fishing and canoeing. It was a really fun trip and I was so glad we were able to go before the summer ended. It reminded me once again how important it is to just be with the kids, especially outdoors. They loved it and I loved being together.

Camping Trip

We took the kids camping up American Fork Canyon. It was a busy night, so we had to go up pretty high to find a space, but it was beautiful and we had plenty of privacy. We also had a little stream right by us that was perfect for playing in. It was so fun sitting around the campfire and talking with the kids that night. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows and made hot chocolate in the morning (that's about as adventurous as I get cooking on a fire).

Megan's Tea Party Birthday

Megan wanted a tea party for her friends party. She also wanted a pinata and the one she chose at the party store was a white unicorn. It didn't really go with the party theme, but she was so excited about it, we got it anyway. She looked so cute and had a fun time with her friends. This is the third tea party I've done for my girls and it is my favorite of all their birthday parties!
