Christmas Day

Christmas Day was probably one of the most relaxing we've ever had. The kids played out in the snow (we got dumped on on Christmas Eve--what you always wish for but don't always get) and played with their new toys until it was time to go to the Nelson's. We didn't see my parents on Christmas--my dad was in Arizona and my mom was with Steve.  I missed seeing them and my siblings on Christmas, but that's the way it goes when these things happen...traditions change. But, it was still a good day. I learned a lesson though about listening to my kids a little more when it comes to what they want for Christmas. We had happy, grateful kids, but they were a little disappointed that mom and dad didn't communicate well enough to Santa what they really wanted. Sometimes we think we know better when really, we don't. Christmas only comes once a year and while I know there are much more important things than gifts, things will be different next year. All in all, it was a great day and I was sad when it was all over.
