Anniversary Trip--Part 1

For our 15th Anniversary this year Nate surprised me with a trip to Carmel and Monterey where we went on our honeymoon. (He actually told me a month before, which was great because I needed time to get ready and I got to look forward to it.) We've taken several trips together the last few years and this one was by far my favorite! It was fun to go back to where we started, but this time we were more confident and comfortable with each other, knew what we wanted to do, and had a few more dollars in our pocket. We stayed at a little cottage called the the Traveler's Cottage that was owned by John Steinbeck at one point in time. It was perfect. Our first night there we went to dinner and talked about the past, present and future and came to some conclusions about something we've been trying to make a decision about. The next day we went kayaking in Monterey Bay and then rented bikes and rode to Carmel. It was my first time going on a real bike ride on a road bike. The scenery was beautiful! I'll blame the wind that day and the hills we had to climb to get to Carmel for my slow pace, but it was still a great ride. Thankfully Nate was very patient and I think enjoyed the ride too.
