Nelson Family Pictures

While all the Nelsons were together for Megan's baptism, Lia arranged to have family pictures taken. She found the spot and told everyone what colors to wear and set her tripod up in our neighbor's backyard the morning of the baptism. The pictures turned out great! I especially love the one of Janet and Kent and all the grandkids. We are so blessed to call all these people family!

Megan's Baptism

Megan's baptism day was a great day! She was so excited and ready to be baptized. She asked my niece Alyson to speak, Lia, Laura and Kent to do the musical number, and Josh to say the prayer. It was a nice program. Megan was baptized with another little boy, Trey Guenter, from our ward. Nate's dad and our neighbor and home teacher Mark Ah Mu were the witnesses. We had lunch afterward at our house and then Megan was recognized the next day in Sacrament Meeting and primary. Megan was so diligent getting ready to be baptized. She faithfully filled out the baptism packet that the primary presidency gave her and she made sure we had a few different family home evenings on baptism and a lesson from our home teachers. Megan has such a sweet and tender heart and wants to do what is right. I was so proud of her on this day and always and I'm so grateful for her desire to follow the Savior.

Megan's Baptism Pictures

Lia wanted to take Megan's baptism pictures at the temple with her new camera and they turned out great! The lighting wasn't the best when we went, but she still got some really cute pictures. Megan was so excited to be there in her new dress and she looked so pretty! We also had pictures taken at a studio (I did that for Lia, Laura and Josh so I thought I should to do the same for Megan). I included a few of those at the end.

First Day of School

The kids still get excited about starting school every year. I hope that never changes. They were all so cute. I'm always sad to see summer end and see them go back to school, but it's also good to get back into a routine. And, I was so glad that Josh and Megan had each other and Lia and Laura had each other at both schools this year.

Mountain Biking

Nate started mountain biking this summer with Josh and with the deacons and he loves it! This trip was with some guys from the ward--it was a little too difficult for Josh or the young men. They road along the ridge between Deer Valley and Big Cottonwood Canyon and then road down the canyon. Nate said it was awesome and a little terrifying at the same time. If he does that ride again, he'll have to do it without telling me...I'd like him to come home at the end of the day!
