June

The last week of school, Megan was excited to wear her new outfit she got in San Francisco, she and Hannah decided to dress like twins one day, and she and Stella hung out. Then the first weekend in June, Laura and Megan and I ran a race. Laura and Megan did the 10k and I did the half marathon. Laura and Megan only ran a couple times before the race and Megan only decided to do it a few days before. I was so proud of them! They both finished with a good time and came in pretty close to each other. I was hoping to beat them so I could see them come in (I started an hour before), but I didn't make it. I trained for a few months before the race. It was hard, but I actually kind of loved it. Nate and Lia were nice enough to drop me off at the top of American Fork Canyon and Suncrest a couple times so I could run home from there for my longer runs. Those runs I did in the early morning and I loved running down the canyon as the sun was coming up and it was still cool outside. I don't think I want to do another one, but it was not as hard as I thought it would be and I was happy with my time--not as fast as I wanted, but I felt good about it. Nate and Lia and Josh were great to come and support us all. Also that weekend, Laura had a piano recital and played so well and we had dinner at my Mom and Steve's house. We had all the kids and grandkids there so we took some pictures. It was a great weekend!

San Francisco

Over Memorial Day weekend, we made a last minute decision to go to San Fransisco with Darren and Sarah and their family (really we invited ourselves along on their trip). We had such a great time! We went to a San Francisco Giants baseball game (with just our family), rode the concrete slides at a park in the city, ate lunch and went to the fortune cookie factory in China Town, went to the cable car museum and rode on a cable car, walked along the beach and the pier, drove to the Muir Woods and saw the Redwood trees and went on a hike, stopped to get ice cream at Stinson Beach, and saw the Golden Gate Bridge and Lombard Street (which a don't have a picture of). I love San Francisco and it was so fun to be there with our kids and with Darren and Sarah and their family!

Josh's Sixth Grade Graduation

Josh was so cute at his 6th grade graduation! He looked so nice and was excited to celebrate with his friends Nash and Eddy. They had a lot of fun together during 6th grade. I was sad to see it end because they are going to three different junior highs. Josh is going to miss them!

Dance Festival

The last week of school Megan and Josh had their dance festival. I was so impressed with both of their performances--even Josh got into it!

Family Pictures

An old mission companion of Nate's came for a visit in May. He's from Brazil, but these days he travels all over the world taking family pictures. He likes to take pictures of families in their natural environment and during their big events. Here are a few of the ones he took of us. It was fun to see the pictures, but the best part was getting to meet him and seeing how happy Nate was to see him again.
