Christmas Concerts, Skiing and More...

Josh had his Christmas guitar concert which is always a lot of fun (especially when Will gets to come along with Grandpa), Lia had her Christmas choir concert, and Megan had her Christmas sing. Next we had a really fun ski day at Powder Mountain (thanks to some free passes from Nate's boss) and then went to the Spendlove Christmas party at Kris and Layne's. And Lastly, Nate was invited to our friend Drex's eagle court of honor as his mentor.

Skiing and Other Activities

We got some really great snow in December and had some great ski days! Laura also organized a fund raiser at school. She recognized the need to raise more money for the student council Sub for Santa project (they were way under what they needed) so she called several businesses asking for donations. Chick fil A said they would donate sandwiches to sell at school. Laura was amazing! She did all the work and they ended up raising more money than they needed. I was so proud of her! Megan also did my hair, my dad came over and delivered our Christmas gift (a giant floor mat piano that's pretty fun), and I had to get a picture of Megan with my old sweatshirt that she loves to wear.

More From December

While I was gone, Nate and Josh ran into an old friend at the metal shop. Bishop Dastrup was the first bishop Nate served with. He became a good friend and we learned a lot from him. We hadn't seen him in quite a while. He invited Nate and Josh back to his shop so they could use some of his tools for Josh's go kart. Nate said it was great to see him again. Nate and the kids also hot tubbed and sat by the fire (the Elmers were in the neighborhood and joined them for the fire part), and Nate and Megan went to a Jazz game. Megan takes her stats and the game seriously.

Last Days in New York

Our last two days we went to the Plaza Hotel and saw their beautiful tree, we shopped at Tiffany's, rode the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, had frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity, saw the Rockette's Christmas Spectacular at the Radio City Music Hall (which was fabulous), saw the skating rink and Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, and ended the trip at the Empire State Building. It was such a fun trip! We saw a lot, ate a lot, and had a great time together! New York City at Christmas time was awesome!
