Deacons Winter Campout

In March, Josh and the Deacons went up to Heber Valley for a camp out. The played in the snow, roasted hot dogs, had a devotional, made breakfast, and went sledding. It was a great campout!

Lia's Birthday Scavenger Hunt

A few days after Lia's birthday, she had a party with her friends. I planned a scavenger hunt where they had 17 clues for her 17 years of life, ending with dinner. Afterward they came over to our house for dessert and to open a few presents. I am so thankful for her group of friends. They are great kids and they have a lot of fun together!

Amelia the Dancing Queen

At the beginning of March Lia turned 17. She has always loved the movie "Mama Mia" and the song "Dancing Queen" and on her 17th birthday, she was our dancing queen. Megan made a "Happy Birthday" sign for Ollie to wear for her and he was nice to keep it on for a minute. In the morning before school we sang happy birthday and she opened her presents. When she got home, she put together a bunch of flower arrangements for a job at a flower shop she wanted to apply for (which she ended up getting). She did a fabulous job! They turned out so pretty and she was excited about working on them. That night we had her favorite dinner--red pepper pasta--with our family.

Lia is so great! She is beautiful inside and out. She's full of adventure and isn't afraid of anything. I'm always amazed by the things she wants to try and how she just does them. She has a strong testimony and is committed to doing what's right. She also has a strong sense of who she is and has a feminist streak running through her that I appreciate and her Dad especially appreciates. She has a great group of friends that she was instrumental in bringing together. I am so happy for her for the good things she has going on in her life and I'm excited to see the great things she will do in the future!

Mid February

In February, Megan made an actual mailbox for her Valentine's box, I took Ollie in for his first grooming appointment (after which he was very tired), we had our Valentine's Day dinner that Megan's friend Kenadee joined us for, we celebrated Janet's birthday, and we got passes to ski at Powder Mountain. Luann and Jan and Wendy were so nice to watch Ollie so we could go. We had a great day and I think Ollie had fun too. Also, Laura had a piano recital, Nate had a really great seat at a Jazz game, and we took some random pictures.
