Amelia the Dancing Queen

At the beginning of March Lia turned 17. She has always loved the movie "Mama Mia" and the song "Dancing Queen" and on her 17th birthday, she was our dancing queen. Megan made a "Happy Birthday" sign for Ollie to wear for her and he was nice to keep it on for a minute. In the morning before school we sang happy birthday and she opened her presents. When she got home, she put together a bunch of flower arrangements for a job at a flower shop she wanted to apply for (which she ended up getting). She did a fabulous job! They turned out so pretty and she was excited about working on them. That night we had her favorite dinner--red pepper pasta--with our family.

Lia is so great! She is beautiful inside and out. She's full of adventure and isn't afraid of anything. I'm always amazed by the things she wants to try and how she just does them. She has a strong testimony and is committed to doing what's right. She also has a strong sense of who she is and has a feminist streak running through her that I appreciate and her Dad especially appreciates. She has a great group of friends that she was instrumental in bringing together. I am so happy for her for the good things she has going on in her life and I'm excited to see the great things she will do in the future!
