First Day of School

This was the last first day where all the kids would be home together. Lia started her senior year, Laura her sophomore, Josh started 8th grade, and Megan started 6th grade--our last year of elementary school. They were so happy to be able to go to school in person, even if it meant wearing masks. I was happy for them, but sad to see them go after having them around for so long. And sad about all our "lasts."

End of August

At the end of August, Lia and her friends Ellie and Kyla had their "treat yo self" day where, after saving their money all summer, they went on a shopping spree and to lunch. Also, Megan went swimming with my young women class. And we went to Logan with Korinne and her kids to see Kathie and Katie and to show Lia around the Utah State campus. We also visited the Logan Cemetery where some of my ancestors on my Dad's side are buried. Next we went to Pineview Reservoir with the Nelson cousins (Ollie got to come too). And lastly, we had our friends the Thayne's over for dinner to say goodbye before they moved to Iowa.

More From Alaska

Everyone brought home A LOT of salmon and halibut! And Nate said watching the glaciers break off and crash into the ocean was one of the coolest things he's ever seen. I'm so glad they got to go! It was the trip of a lifetime.
