Lia

Lia's shoe broke the day before she left the MTC (the shoes that were supposed to last her whole mission). When she got to Paraguay, she asked a member if they knew of a place that could fix them for her. They took her shoe and had it repaired and wouldn't take any money from her for the repair. They said they knew their family would be blessed for helping the missionaries. I was so grateful for this sweet family. Lia also visited a waterfall and had another baptism. Their friend Santiago was baptized by his friend Ronny. "Santi" was prepared and excited and Lia was so happy for him! Her first couple of months there, Lia was overwhelmed by the humble circumstances of the people she met and also by the members' dedication to the gospel. She was seeing first hand how the gospel can change lives. We loved being able to talk to her every week and hear about her experiences.
