End of May

And the end of May, Laura had seminary graduation, I took Megan and her young women class to the temple to do baptisms for the dead and to breakfast, Nate took his friend Spencer from work to an LA Lakers game in Los Angeles, Nate and I went to the Shania Twain concert, Josh and Megan had their last day of school (I don't know why I don't have a picture of Megan), we had a graduation party for Laura and Daniel at my mom's house, and Megan painted Laura's nails for graduation.

Megan's Women of Steel Triathlon

Megan wanted to do another triathlon after the one she did the year before didn't end the way it was supposed to. So she signed up for the Women of Steel Triathlon right here in American Fork. She practiced her swimming in the pool were the race was, she and I biked the biking route together and we ran the running portion ahead of time. So she was totally prepared this time and it was familiar territory because it's close to home. She also talked two of her friends into doing it with her: Samara and Caroline. It was fun for them to do it together and they all medalled in their age group. We were so proud of Megan! Janet, Laura, and Josh came to cheer her on with Nate and me.

Middle of May

In the middle of May we celebrated Mother's Day, Josh had his guitar concert and worked on his car, Laura took a well deserved nap after a busy month and hung out with her friends, we hung out with cousins, and Megan practiced swimming to get ready for her triathlon.

More Laura

Laura's senior pictures turned out great! She also had her senior piano recital and her golf banquet. Her senior recital meant a lot to her, her teacher, and to us. It was the culmination of so many years of practice and hard work (I think twelve?). She and the other senior student, Brielle, each took turns playing two pieces each, switching back and forth. Laura played so beautifully! For one of her songs she had Lucy sing and she accompanied. The song they did is called "Both Sides Now" and it was so beautiful! Laura was sad to see her time with her teacher Ashley, who became a good friend and mentor, come to an end, but it was a great end. And then we had her golf banquet. Even though she only played for two years, it was a great experience. She learned a lot, improved her game, and had a lot of fun!
