Girls Camp

Lia and Laura went to girls camp in mid June at Heber Valley Camp. They were really excited and I was so glad they were there together. While they were gone, I took Josh and Megan to the farm at Thanksgiving Point, out for ice cream after, swimming with their friends at the Lindon Pool, and to Nate's work picnic where we were some of the last to leave because Josh and Megan didn't want to get off the trampoline. We missed Lia and Laura, but we tried to do some fun things while they were gone.

June

Our first week of summer we helped Ashley move. Nate was out of town, so the kids and I went up without him. Everyone was a big help, either with packing or with playing with the kids. Lia and Laura also went to the temple, Lia did some mountain biking, Josh played outside with the neighbors, and Lia modeled her 9th grade graduation dress.

Little Red

At the beginning of June, Katie and my friends Jen and Jessica and I participated in the Little Red Century Ride in Logan. It's an all-women ride and raises money for different types of cancer that affect women. It was so, so fun. We went to dinner and spent the night in Logan the night before and then got up early for the race the next morning. We stayed together for the first part of the race and then I tried desperately to catch up to Katie after getting separated from Jen and Jess. I finally caught up with her at lunch. We were making good time to reach the cut off mile marker of 70 miles by 1:00 until Katie got a flat tire. But, we fixed it and barely made it in time after losing a half hour. Katie had one more tire issue after that and told me to go ahead while she got it fixed. She caught up to me on a hill toward the end of the race that I didn't know was coming. It felt terribly long, but we made it and rode in together. Jessica and Jen were just a few minutes behind us. It was a long ride (and took some long rides getting ready for it--which included a hot, dry ride out to Herriman and a crash coming out of American Fork canyon on another ride), but it was so worth it! It was so great doing it with Katie, and Jess and Jen, and so fun to see our families at the end cheering us on!

End of the School Year

At the end of May, Laura had an awards dinner with her soccer team, Megan received the 3rd grade Triumph Award, all the kids were super excited about the last day of school, Megan and Hannah had a painting session, Lia had a bunch of friends over for an end of school party (it was a really fun party!), and Lia went on her first mountain biking ride with the Lone Peak team.
