Lia started a day earlier than the rest of the kids. I was really nervous for her starting junior high in a new area not knowing hardly anyone, but when she found Kylee and Collette, her friends from our ward, I was so relieved and so grateful! And she had a great first week. So did Laura and Josh and Megan. We've had a few bumps in the road since then, but for the most part, things are going well. As for me, I wasn't really prepared to be alone in the house all day in a new ward and neighborhood where I didn't feel like I had any friends yet. At least I could relate to the kids in that regard. But, I'm getting used to it and as I've told Nate a hundred times, I'm so grateful I get to stay home and be there when my kids leave for school in the morning and when they get home in the afternoon (and sometimes in between--like when Megan had a major meltdown at school over school lunch). And just like my kids, I'll adjust to this new phase of life in a new place.
