Over Memorial Day weekend Janet and Kent planned a super fun trip to Lehman Caves in Great Basin National Park. We didn't think we could go so we didn't get a motel room. So when we found out we could go, we decided to rent at RV. I'm so glad we did go--it was such a great trip! We stopped in Delta on the way down and went to the Topaz Museum where the Japanese American Internment Camp was during World War II. It is such a sad place and a sad part of our history, but the museum is so well done. From there we drove to the border of Utah and Nevada where we stayed for the weekend. Everyone else stayed in the Border Inn there (including Lia and Megan who did have a room because they were the only ones who were originally going to go). It was old and dumpy, but a fun little place. We stayed in the RV park there. All the kids had fun hanging out in the RV. We grilled hot dogs, stargazed, hiked, and went to Lehman Caves. Laura and I had to leave early to get her home for her young women's camp. It was a beautiful drive home and Laura got some great pictures. Everyone else stayed and drove to Eli, Nevada where they rode the train there. It was an old fashion train ride complete with pretend train robbers. They had a great time! I was sad to miss it, but I was so grateful we got to go for most of it. It was so fun to be together and Janet did a great job planning all the activities. We are so blessed to have extended family that we truly love being with!
