At the end of June, Laura had the opportunity to volunteer for the Special Olympics in Berlin, Germany with her friend Emilie Lepore. All the young single adults in Europe were volunteering and since Emilie lived in France she wanted to go and invited Laura to come with her. So Nate and I decided to take her there and do some sightseeing while they volunteered. We met Emilie at the airport (she flew up from Lyon where her parents were serving as mission leaders) and drove them to their hostel where they would be staying for the next several days. I was really nervous leaving them in a totally foreign and big city, but there were plenty of young single adults and adult leaders there and I told myself they would be fine and it would be a good experience for them. It was, but the first day was admittedly a little rocky. But, they found their way around the city and made some new friends and had a great experience! Nate and I, meanwhile, started our trip in Rothenburg. I couldn't believe how beautiful and charming it was! We spent a day and a night there exploring and we loved it!
