October

At the end of September/beginning of October, I picked our sad little crop of pears (we usually get a lot more but for some reason we didn't this year) and I made jam from our apricots. I'm not a big canner or jam maker, but there's something beautiful about jars of jam or canned peaches on the counter. Next, Nate and Josh rode the Crest Trail between Millcreek and Big Cottonwood Canyon and Kent shuttled them. And Megan had a tea party with some new friends, Josh worked on a project for his car, and got a new suit for homecoming (his old suit was too big). And then Megan had a mountain bike race in Vernal that just Nate went to so I could stay home and help Josh get ready for homecoming. She loved the course and raced well! And then Megan had another mountain bike race in Manti that Janet and Kent and Lucy came to. Lastly, Megan built a zip line in the backyard and hung out with Laura, Nate and Josh rode "The Whole Enchilada" in Moab with Cameron, and Nate went on a work trip to Atlanta.
