We spent most of this day at the pool (where Josh and Megan made some new friends) and then rode our bikes to dinner at the Crazy Crab. After dinner we went to the beach. It was a perfect night: it was not super hot, the kids were having a great time riding their bikes on the sand and through the water and I was just setting up chairs to settle in for the night when Lia started screaming in the water. Nate was out there too and started waving for me to come help. For a split second I thought she got bit by a shark and I nearly had a heart attack. But then I realized Nate would be a lot more frantic if it was a shark. She wasn't bit by a shark, she was stung by a jelly fish. She was pretty calm by the time she got out of the water, but she was crying. We looked for some help at the beach and when we couldn't find any, I rode back to get the car to get her home and I googled how to treat it. We ran her arm under hot water for a half hour and then she laid on the couch for the rest of the night. After a couple hours, the burning subsided. By the next day, she was feeling better but her arm looked terrible. The good news is it wasn't a shark and now she has a good story to tell.
