Hawaii--Oahu

In July we got to take a trip to Hawaii. When Nate was laying in bed in January after his foot surgery and was feeling a little down, I suggested we plan our summer vacation. When I asked him where he wanted to go, he said, "Hawaii--I just want to go to Hawaii." So, Hawaii it was. I was thinking maybe we would take the kids there when Lia graduated from high school, but I'm so glad we went when we did. It was so, so great and we loved every minute of it!

The first thing we did when we arrived was meet Nate's Aunt Kris and Uncle Layne for dinner and a swim at the beach. They were serving a mission at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie on the island of Oahu. It was great to see them and the beach at sunset was beautiful! The next morning we stopped at the Laie Temple on our way to the Polynesian Cultural Center. The PCC was so fun. It was really hot, but the pineapple smoothies helped and we loved the shows and the luau!
