Maui

When we got to Maui, some of the first things we wanted to do were send Nate on a bike ride around the island and watch the sunset on top of Haleakala Volcano. Nate had some bike problems so he wasn't able to finish the ride (the down hill fun part, unfortunately), but he made it half way around the island. And then we drove to see the volcano. We got there in time to adjust to the altitude change before the sunset (you go from sea level to 10,000 feet above sea level in a matter of an hour). It was beautiful! Last time Nate and I were in Maui, we watched the sunrise there. I liked this a little better. The clouds were amazing! It was really cold up on top and we did not pack cold weather clothes, but we managed to stay warm. We also had dinner that night at a really cute place at the bottom of the volcano.
