BYU All Sports Camp

Josh got to go to BYU's All Sports Camp at the beginning of August with his cousin Jake. He found his friend Austin Stroud there too. Everyday was a new sport and although it was a long week for him, Josh had fun. He loved hanging out with Jake and Austin and it was a good experience to see what he liked and maybe didn't like as much. Nate had fun too taking him down everyday and spending some time at camp with him.

Hike to Stuart Falls

I forgot for a minute that my kids don't really love to hike and decided to take them to Stuart Falls up Provo Canyon with my friends Melissa and Carolee and their kids. The hike in was a little rough, but the falls were beautiful and everyone did much better on the way down. Almost better enough to THINK about going on another hike...at least with Megan, she was a champ!

End of July

I have a lot to write about all these pictures. First of all, Megan decided to organize her drawers all on her own one day (a girl after my own heart) and Josh decided he liked doing dishes one day, all on his own (also after my own heart). Megan lost another tooth leaving a cute not-so-little gap. Josh made a mold of his face for a mask and slept in it. Laura hung out with the neighbors causing all kind of ruckus. Nate rode to the top of American Fork Canyon and down Provo Canyon--the furthest he's ever gone and quite a climb. We said goodbye to Cameron, Sarah, Lucy and Nora. Josh hung out with Austin and Isaac. He loves them and I'm pretty sure they love him too! And, we got another picture of Josh and Nate in their suits (their matching suits--including ties, belts, and shoes).

24th of July

After the race, we spent the afternoon at Nelsons. Everyone took naps (the kids slept over at Nelsons the night before so we could get to the race and got about as much sleep as we did) or watched a movie and Nate was able to talk to his parents about some things he had going on at work, which he                                                        really needed. That night we had dinner at Nate's cousin's (Josh loved it--there were tons of boys there) and then watched fireworks at Cam and Kristen's. It was one of the nicest days we'd had in a while!

Deseret News Classic

Nate and Lia decided to run the Deseret News Classic 10k this year. I was so proud of Lia for wanting to do it, and training for it, and grateful to Nate for running it with her. So Tiffany and I ran together again and Nate and Lia ran together. Tiffany and I came in a little quicker than we did last year and were there to cheer Nate and Lia on as they finished. Lia was thrilled about her accomplishment and was so excited about her medal! Ashley also ran the 10k (she smoked all of us) and Jared ran the half marathon.

July

In July, we bought Lia a violin so she'd be ready to start orchestra at school in the fall and we had a visit from our friends the Lepores who moved to France. It was great to see them and see our kids pick up where they left off a few years ago. We also played with cousins and played in the water.

Nelson Family Reunion--Day Three

On the third day, we went to Jenny Lake in Grand Tetons National Park and had a picnic and rented canoes. It was a little rainy and cold, but it was beautiful and we had a good time. That night we drove to Jackson Hole and saw a shoot out in the town square and went shopping. We were all sad it was our last night. It was a really fun trip and we were so grateful to Janet and Kent for taking us!
