Our original plan for getting home from Mexico had us arriving New Year's Eve night so the kids could hang out with their friends. But it didn't work out that way. Our flight plans changed and we got stuck in Mexico City. We managed to make it to Los Angeles on a different flight we scrambled to book, but we had to stay the night in a crappy hotel and fly out on New Year's Day in the morning. I felt bad about the kids not being able to get together with their friends, but more than that I was worried about picking up Ollie and making it to a play we had tickets for that day. We had tickets to Hamilton that we were really excited about and did not want to miss. By some miracle we made it home, got Ollie, showered, and made it the play on time. Nate and I had already seen it in Chicago, but the kids hadn't and they were dying to see it. It did not disappoint! And, they made plans with their friends that night so all was well.
