At the end of August, Ryan and Heather invited us to the beach house they go to every fall. It was a rather casual invite, but we took them up on it. It happened to be over our fall break and since we can fly for free, we decided to go. We didn't tell the kids until a couple weeks before. Nate bought some snorkeling equipment to take with us and we gave it to the kids the night we told them we were going. They were so excited!! They had been saying for a couple months how we hadn't been to the beach in a while and they wanted to go. It was all Nate and I could do to keep it a secret for as long as we did. The kids decorated notebooks to take with us to write about the trip. We flew in on a Thursday night and stayed at Ryan and Heather's and then drove to the beach house the next day. It's on an island called Little Gasperilla Island and you have to take a water taxi to get there. There are no cars or stores on the Island. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was! It was like we had walked onto a movie set. Everything about it was awesome!
